Purpose and Goals
The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase my three years of hands-on experience in paid social media. The site will act as the central hub to spotlight the work I have done, the skills I have developed, and the results I have generated. Throughout this course, I will include a series of blog posts and case studies to demonstrate my understanding and execution of digital advertising, especially paid media and performance marketing.
This portfolio has two goals, each targeting a unique audience. My primary goal is to allow potential employers to easily view my experience and understand the types of industries and client accounts I have worked on. My secondary goal is to inspire and assist inexperienced media buyers with an interest in paid social, and who are learning on their own.
Hosting Provider Selection Rationale
I picked HostPapa as my website hosting provider after reviewing a list of potential hosting providers in the assignment guidelines. I mainly compared HostPapa with Bluehost because it is highly recommended by WordPress and used by 5 million WordPress users (Bluehost, n.d.-a). My evaluation criteria included support, cPanel, WordPress connectivity, backup, SSL, storage, themes, email, domain, bandwidth, server location, etc. Both offer strong WordPress support, which was the key criterion. However, I selected HostPapa due to its more flexible plan options and for being a Canadian company, despite both companies having a basic one-year plan costing almost the same at $59.40 CAD and $59.88 CAD for HostPapa and Bluehost, respectively (Host Papa, n.d.; Bluehost, n.d.-b)
